Sometimes you just need to release… Read at your own risk… Take what you want from it.

From the depth of my mind, crept the shadows left behind. Pulling me deeper beneath the ground, never to be found. The glimmer of light, shines bright from above. Piercing through the dark, to find untold secrets of the heart.

Will I be found? Or forever be bound, to the darkness that engulfs and confounds. Roaring through the silence, a voice spoke… “Not today you won’t”. Crashing, trampling, barreling through, like a flood the doubts and fears removed. “My love roars louder…. Leave now.”

It will always roar louder, which put my mind at ease and my heart soothed.

Smoke break

“She said, ‘I don’t drink,  but sometimes I need a stiff drink. Sipping from a high, full glass. Let the world fade away'”

Hey y’all. Time for a ramble again. I don’t know if this will be too much of a ramble as much as getting some things off my chest. *takes a deep breath and exhales slowly* Okay…… Have you ever had a time where you feel like everything crashes around you? You feel like you are losing everything you love or worked hard for? I’ll be the first to stand and say I have.

Sometimes we need to just take the time to clear our heads. We may decide to go in our closet, shutting out the rest of the world. We may go on a spending splurge, buying random things that may or may not be useful. We may even be called out by that person that gets you, that other gear that knows something is off, sometimes even before you even realize it. However it happens to you, even if it is all three at once, it is okay.

That’s it people. It’s okay. At the end of day, take the time to reflect on all the things good and the things going right. Spend time with those that matter. Make sure to thank those people that are in your life that know when you are close to your breaking point. This is my ‘Thank You’ to those in my life. Those that are always there, standing by me, holding me up, and never let me down.

Sometimes we just need that moment of clarity, That release, that me time. So go grab that smoke, or that drink. Go on that shopping spree. Take time for yourself a moment. The tricky part is, not losing yourself along the way. With that said, I’m gonna go enjoy a drink, maybe even a smoke too. Salud.

Keep smiling,

“She said, ‘I don’t smoke,  but sometimes I need a long drag. Yeah, I know it might sound bad, but sometimes I need a smoke break'”

Best friend, what is that?

*waves* Told you I would be back. So I recently have seen a few people, refer to the same person as their best friend. But what is a best friend exactly? Is it the person you need only you when you want something, the person that you feel knows you best, or the person that you share all your secrets with? When you read each of those, do you think of one person or of three different people?
I like to believe that a best friend is all of the above and more. Elaborate you ask? Well, in my opinion, your best friend should be the person that stands by you regardless, the person you know you share anything with, (even if you know it may hurt them), the person that you strive to be like each and every day. The person that inspires you, builds you up, constructively criticizes you, the one that you know no matter what happens or what you say, they are still there. The one that even when you look like complete hell, acting like an idiot, being a ….., they will tell you. The person that loves and cares for you like no other does.
I am not saying that your best friend should be your lover or spouse, but think about it, who would you rant to when that special person is on your nerves, right? …. Wrong… Look at what I said above… The person that can tell you when you are being an idiot or a ….., hmmmm well, if your spouse was your best friend… Then you could tell them, right? Right. I’m not saying point out everything someone does wrong… Or things you may not like, I am saying you shouldn’t be afraid to approach them with issues. Also, let me add: Your best friend can be anyone, you don’t have to be romantically involved with them, but the truth still holds that you should be able to tell them anything. Even if you know or feel it will hurt them. After all, how else can we grow, if we never feel pain? And wouldn’t you rather hear something from the one you call best friend, instead of some random other person?
I am preaching to myself as well, but this is my ramble.. So I’m gonna just carry on. Anyhow, when you think about your best friend, do you know if you are theirs in return? Are you okay with the possibly that you may not be? I lost an important person at a vital point in my life and I know, that they were my best friend, but I never knew if I was theirs. Many other people claimed to be their best friend, but what mattered to me was I knew that they were mine regardless and I was going to do whatever it took to hold up to my promise to them. I didn’t care if it was returned.
So, no matter if you have one or many, a best friend is someone each person should have in their life regardless. Don’t be selfish with them, don’t try to change them, and love and accept them exactly how they are. You might come to find, they are exactly what you need in the most unexpected circumstances.

Ramble over…. Keep smiling,

Closet Rambles?

*laughs* When trying to come up with a name for my blog, I was bouncing off ideas from a few of my closest friends.  I was sharing what I wanted to write about and how I wanted to go about sharing it. One simply said, “So you want to write from our closet?” You now may be wondering what “our” closet is. To keep it simple, it is where we figuratively go to shut the world out. However, this loud mouth has decided to share some of those random thoughts that happen when the rest of the world is shut out.

Some may think I’ve gone completely mad, however in the words of sweet Alice, speaking to the lively Mad Hatter, when he asks “Have I gone mad?” Her response is, “I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret, All the best people are.” So consider yourself lucky my friends.

*grins* Word of caution; some of these posts may not make sense, some may be long, others short. Some may be my own words of wisdom and others may just be to make sure a smile is placed on someone’s face.

Life is too short not to smile, take chances, or live in fear. Make everyday count. Live without regrets. We aren’t promised tomorrow, so why not live for today. I’ll venture even shorter than that and say Live for the moment, but not just any moment. Those special moments that can be anything from a life changing conversation, or as simple as watching the fireflies (or as I like to call them, Lightening bugs) light up the trees. Take nothing for granted. Live your life for you and no one else.

Well, that is all I have to say for now. I’ll be back soon, I am sure (whenever I can sneak out again and share some thoughts). Until then,
Keep smiling, ~Adalynne
